Rare black vulture enormous size was observed recently in Finland. Black Vulture is the biggest kind of vultures in the world and the biggest day winged predators in Eurasia. The length of the trunk of this huge bird is 100-120 cm and a wingspan - about 3 meters, reported portal Scandi news. 

Black Vulture, which ornithologists discovered in Finland, apparently, was in this northern country from afar, as in these latitudes, vultures do not live. Usual the habitat of this species of birds - is mountainous and wooded terrain, located in the area from the south of Europe to China and India. Scientists estimate that in the world today from 7 thousand to 10 thousand individuals of black vulture. 

Black Vulture (Latin Aegypius monachus) - the bird family Accipitridae. The total length of 75-100 cm, wing length 72-85 cm, wingspan 250-300 cm, weight 12.7 kg. Occurs in Southern Europe, North Africa, the Near, Middle and Central Asia, where its range in a small number - in the south-eastern Altai. It feeds on carrion. In search of food daily cover great distances (in East Africa - up to 300-400 km), skillfully using soaring upward flow of heated air (thermals). It nests in pairs in the trees.
