In Germany, unknown animal rights groups entered a farm located in Brandenburg growing mink, opened cages and released 4,000 animals, said Spiegel. 

Half of the minks had been catched, but the rest scattered in the neighborhood. Local residents are in horror. According to the experts, every three days, 2,000 minks eat a ton of food. 

The police reported that the animals already ate up  many chickens and other poultry, on nearby farms. Representatives from environmental alliance NABU, noted that for local agriculture and the environment - is a catastrophe.

Besides the fact that mink can cause considerable damage to private households, in the near future, if they aren't catched, they will destroy many wild birds, and reptiles in the area. 

The owner of the farm had already filed a complaint with the police, he assesses the damage inflicted on a farm of 180 thousand euros. The damage caused to the region's economy is still unknown, it is noted that it may be many times greater.
